Vale Helen Van Raay
Long Island Cricket Club extends our deepest sympathies to Theo, Pat, Doug, Luke and all of
Helen's extended family after her sudden passing on Tuesday. A Life Member and long time
supporter, hard worker and good friend of both Long Island and local sport in general, Helly
will be sadly missed.

The Board and Pennant have consulted regarding the situation next Saturday and have decided that all Cricket will commence the follow Saturday, 9th October and will all be one day games.

This decision is twofold:
1. To avoid playing when the AFL Grand-Final is still in progress and
2. Gives the Grounds longer to recover from Winter Sport and to give the Council's more time in preparation of our grounds.

Working Bee

On Sunday 19th September after training, we will hold a working bee to set-up the rooms so we’re up and running for Round 1. BBQ to follow the working bee, many hands make light work!
